About the Artist

Aline is originally from Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. Her artistic side emerged around the age of five. At that time she had a great passion for horses. In the summer as the farmer's horses were cut loose to graze the countryside near her home, she found ways of getting close enough to sketch. She drew a fair rendition that her mother still treasures on a piece of cardboard box.

Although, never formally trained in art, she scoured libraries and has taken short courses in portrait pencil sketching, wood carving and photo restoration. She worked most of her life as a pastry chef, and found quite by accident, after being ordered off her feet post surgery, that she could sketch people very well and began to apply herself, perfecting her technique in charcoal and pastel. Oil is a medium she loves to just let go with and create whatever the canvas dictates. The raw smell is conducive to creative juices, as all artists who love oil know all too well.

Both her mom and dad as well as her 10 siblings, have strong artistic and musical talents. She is well traveled, has completed a perfect figure eight of the US and has now settled in Tennessee. She raised four wonderful, talented and artistic children and currently has 6 terrific grandchildren.

Her eldest daughter Joanne Ring, has a pencil drawing of Gandhi at the Martin Luther King Center in Atlanta, GA. If you visit there, check it out.

Aline takes great pride in her family and her clients. She is diligent in her work so as to insure what she creates and delivers will be treasured for years to come. Please visit the gallery and prints to view her many works of art.
